Our area of specialism

We’re driven by our mission to ensure homeowners and commercial developers protect their most financially and emotionally valuable asset at the point of greatest risk. Nobody should lose their property because they are not properly insured during a renovation project.

We specialise in offering insurance and consultancy services for high value residential and commercial renovation and building projects. Our policies cover projects with a value of works ranging from £250,000 to £100million; with values rising to £150 million for combined structures and works. We’re not just providing cover, but full property protection and complete peace of mind.

Our Appetite

What we can do for you.

  • Thatch property renovations
  • Commercial property renovations
  • Grade I and II* property renovations
  • Renovation projects already underway
  • Non-standard construction
  • Massive exposures (i.e.; Buildings and Works sums insureds in the tens of millions)
  • Very small exposures (thanks to our packaged product for mid net worth risks)
  • Post loss support
  • High flood / subs exposure. Whilst we may exclude this cover, we will still write the rest of the risk. We won’t decline the whole thing, just the relevant peril.

What we can’t do.

  • Self-build. This is where the works are being physically undertaken by the policyholder. Please note that self-managed is fine.
  • Heavy industrial risks (composite panelling in particular)
How to place
a contract
works enquiry:

You can place any contract works policy enquiry into our dedicated online portal. This will immediately tell our underwriters there’s a new risk to review and they’ll get in touch to advise further.

The portal is accessed through a dedicated Broker Hub. Using Open API programming, the platform generates personalised transactional dashboards for you, interacts in real time with our transactional portal (for policy quotes, binding and MTAs) and also gives instant access to Contact Works Academy, our online training platform.
